339 candidates and examiners were injured

339 candidates and examiners were injured during driving tests last year, figures released by the freedom of information act.

The Driving Standards Agency information reveals that 147 major injuries were sustained where the candidate or examiner needed medical treatment, other injuries were less and needed no medical treatment. the facts also revealed there were 1,070 'incidents' on the road or the test center with examiners having to take time off work and insurance claims made.

Driving Standards Agency figures show 1,605,599 practical driving tests were taken in England, Wales and Scotland in 2010-11, of which 744,044 were passed, a success rate of 46.3%.
